And a little bit about the author of this project. My name is Leonid, but in the aquarium world I'm known as Leo Angel. This name is registered in almost all major aquarium forums, as well as on Facebook.

Aquaria has been my hobby for many years. My first aquarium was done by myself at the age of 14 years. And since then (with a few interruptions) for more than 30 years, I am an ardent supporter of this hobby.

Like everyone else, probably, in first in my aquarium lived only fish. Different, all sorts - Apistogramma, Cichlid, etc. But I wanted to slightly change the image. To not only of fish, but was plants. But in that time, I kept African Cichlids, then, of course, all attempts to grow anything were doomed to failure. And I began to read, think, learn ... And in some time success came. Naturally, I had to say goodbye to cichlids. I hope the descendants of my fishes is still alive and well at their new owners. I changed water parameters, soil, CO2... I added light ...... And away we go .........

I was more and more inclined to think that it is much more interesting for me growing underwater gardens than the content of aquarium fish. The final point on the question to be or not to be in my aquarium plants, was aquarium in one of our pet stores. I saw and was stunned ... I walked for half an hour around and around, looking at every corner of the aquarium, every plant, every blade of grass. I was shocked...

Most of all I was struck by the green "hedgehogs" in the foreground - ERIOCAULON. And these hedgehogs have become the very "last straw" that broke me in my desire to do anything remotely resembling this aquarium. And to hedgehogs !!! Necessary !!!

By this time in my aquariums already lived quite rare and "difficult" plants - 4-5 species of aponogeton, pogostemon collection, etc. Naturally, I imagined the complexity of the content of rare plants. Problems fertilizers, light, CO2 and many others were known to me by hearsay.

I began to search for information on the "hedgehog". But I found to a couple of dozen phrases, that "walking" from one website to another. And there is nothing concrete. And then I decided that if I could cope with eriocaulon, then I will tell everyone who want to see these beautiful plants in their aquariums, about everything that I realized, learned and did.

And the then my decision to became a reality! For several years I have been able to grow about 20 kinds of eriocaulon, learn to be propagated in several ways, including seed multiplication. I went through all the stages. From simple content "just to be" in the general aquarium, and to build compositions with eriocaulon in separate, designated just for them, aquariums. From the simple to the seeds of division and multiplication. Methods to stimulate reproduction, subtlety of eriocaulon flowering, pollination and specificity receive seeds. All of this is now known to me.

And I hasten to share with all aquarists who are "sick" of eriocaulon, all this wealth of information. To them, as to me at the time, did not have to go to the touch. I hope that this website will help quickly and with minimal losses to grow the most interesting and most unusual plants in the aquarium.

Whose name - ERIOCAULON !!!
